One of the most important aspects of our actual product delivery at Mike Maez Photography is the online file proofing and album selection process. Over the years I have entertained a number of options ranging from plain FTP style listings, Lightroom style galleries, or even plain pen and paper with image numbers hastily scribbled about. Approximately 2 years ago, all of this changed and I am happy to say that our process of file delivery and album selection is now completely streamlined and more simple than ever.
This is all due to a company called Zenfolio, who happens to offer some of the most all encompassing website and proofing solutions available today. While I do not have my main website or blog hosted through Zenfolio, they do handle the most important aspect of my business on the client side, which is my proofing site. I currently house over 200 gigs and nearly 30,000 images that have been selected, retouched, and delivered to many of our fabulous couples as well as commercial and editorial clients around the world. You may be thinking, that’s really cool, but why exactly are you telling us this on your blog?
The answer is simple. I LOVE Zenfolio and have recommended them to all of my fellow photographers and friends alike. They have changed the way I do business in many ways and have saved me so much time and effort over the years that I firmly believe they have a truly outstanding product. Furthermore, with the initial support from the fine folks at Zenfolio, we have organized a monthly local gathering of photographers and enthusiasts who use or have questions about Zenfolio. For now the format is casual and informative and open to anyone who would have an interest in joining us. In the future I would like to expand the group into a format that is more workshop based, but we’ll of course need to build up to something like that.
I’ve decided to include a few images of our last meetup, which occurred at the Fair Trade Cafe & Gallery in downtown Phoenix. This month we’ll be discussing the future format of the meet & greet as well as some educational topics that would be most useful to the group.
