With lightweight bodywork constructed from glassfibre, carbonfibre and Kevlar, a 400bhp twin-turbocharged V8, muscular wings and an integrated spoiler, the 288 GTO was the fastest Ferrari road car ever built, and it began a storied lineage of models that continued with the F40, F50, Enzo, LaFerrari, and soon-to-be F80.
